Can you afford not to breastfeed?
During this disconcerting time in our country's economic history, new parents are understandably worried about how they will make ends meet. One way you can save a lot of money is by breastfeeding! Have you looked at the cost of formula lately? The monthly cost of formula-feeding ranges from $150 to $600 depending upon the age of your baby and the kind of formula you are using. Furthermore, extensive research has clearly demonstrated that mothers who breastfeed have far fewer medical expenses because both they and their babies receive so many healthy benefits from nursing.
Breastmilk is free! Even if you purchase a good breastpump, several nursing bras and have a visit with a lactation consultant, you will have only spent a fraction of what a year's worth of infant formula will cost you!
If you're pregnant and undecided about breastfeeding, why not sign up for one of our breastfeeding classes where you will learn just what you need to do to have a successful nursing experience!
Please come see us soon. We will be getting new merchandise in throughout the month. Market is next weekend, and I'm going to pick up some fall maternity and nursing clothing to enhance our selection. We would love to know what products you want! Thanks so much for being part of the family here at A Nurturing Moment!
Sincerely,
Glenni Lorick, IBCLC
